If I could put time in a bottle,

The first thing that I'd like to do

Is to save every day til eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you...

I'm Rory Diane Sakach, an artist focused on preserving the fleeting moments of childhood and motherhood, capturing memories in detailed pencil and pen drawings.

Previously a concept artist, I turned away from digital painting after becoming a teacher and recapturing my first love in art: simple pencil. Since then, I have become a wife and a  mom and have pivoted my work to highlighting the beauty that I see every day in my young children's lives. In a world where motherhood, parenthood, and childhood can be minimized, my hope is to show the small moments that point to eternity and share that joy with others.

When I'm not drawing, I am a full-time mom, and love spending time reading, exploring outdoors, and spending time with friends.

Why the black boxes?

WHY THE BLACK BOXES?

You may have noticed that some of my pieces have black boxes covering the eyes of the portraits. The reason for this is that I often use my own children as references for my drawings. In order to protect their digital privacy, I include black boxes over identifiable features of the portrait. While I know this takes away from the detail and experience of the artwork overall, it is of upmost importance to me to protect the identities of my children. If you wish to see the drawings unaltered, you are welcome to view my artwork in person in any of the galleries I am featured in!
